Prerequisites and co-requisites
1Successful mastering of the disciplines "Fundamentals of Geoecology", "Fundamentals landscape science", "Geomorphology", "Cartography with the basics of topography", "Educational practice with methods of acquiring geographic information". 2. Have the ability for critical thinking, analysis and synthesis of information about natural objects from various sources; 3. To be able to independently investigate and analyze space-time parameters landscapes; 4. To know modern quantitative and qualitative methods of geographical research, to be able to use them to be used in production and research activities.
Course content
This academic discipline is dedicated to study of general methods of processing geographic information and data, principles and modern methods of solving the main problems in the plane of the subject area knowledge of natural geography. The discipline is aimed at the formation of students accumulation of special professional, social and personal competencies knowledge about the possibility of critical thinking, analysis and synthesis, the ability to search, process and analyze information and data from various sources, the ability to determine, formulate and solve problems in the field of natural geography. Individually the components of the discipline are the study of general approaches and special methods study of scientific publications (articles in specialized publications, monographs, etc.), cartographic materials, processing of field and laboratory results research, data of remote sensing of the Earth as the main sources of obtaining reliable information about the environment. The functional block of the discipline involves mastering the following components, as the ability to apply basic knowledge of natural sciences, the ability apply simple quantitative and qualitative methods in the study of geosystems, the ability to independently investigate and analyze spatial and temporal changes in parameters of geocomponents for the purposes of successful further professional activity.
