Learning outcomes
Knowledge of basic diplomatic concepts, terms and categories; sources of modern foreign relations law; history of diplomatic law, consular law, the law of special missions and international organizations; legal principles and international legal framework for cooperation in the field of foreign relations law; the process of formation, organization and functioning of the diplomatic service; the legal status of subjects of foreign relations; and the mechanisms for making and organizing foreign policy decisions; methods and means of diplomatic action, including the basic principles, forms and methods of work of diplomatic missions;

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the fundamental of theory and the main branches of public international law, comparative constitutional law, comparative administrative law. 2. Be able to analyse and determine the content of the rights and obligations of subjects of international law, apply the rules and principles of international law and decisions of international courts to meet specific objectives, analyse and establish the content of Ukrainian and foreign legislation.
Course content
Thematic plan of the discipline: 1. The concept of diplomacy and diplomatic service. The law of foreign relations as a branch of international law. 2. State organs of external deterioration and their powers. 3. Establishment of diplomatic relations and organization of modern diplomatic mission. Means of conducting foreign relations in terms of international legal recognition. Structure, personnel and functions of diplomatic missions. Diplomatic privileges and immunities in contemporary diplomatic practice. 4. Specific fields of diplomacy. Professional diplomacy in modern diplomatic practice. 5. Consular law and features of consular missions. Consular Office: procedure for institution and appointment of consular officers. Functions of consular offices and their means of work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 22 points), written assignment (up to 20 points), final modular test (up to 20 points). The form of final control is an exam. The exam is conducted in writing. The student's answer to the exam – up to 40 points.
