            Learning outcomes
        
        
            To know the concept of international human rights law, its origins and development; scope of application of international human rights law; the content of specific human rights, their definitions and scope of application; basic guarantees for the protection of human rights from actions of State and agents of a State; the main human rights protection bodies; the concept of implementation of human rights law in the internal legal order of States; the responsibility of a State for violations of human rights.

            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            1. Knowledge of the Fundamental Theory of International Law, Public International Law, International Legal regulation, Law of Treaties, Constitutional Law. 
2. Ability to analyse and establish the content of rights and obligations of international law subjects in accordance with the provisions of certain international treaties, to apply the norms and principles of international human rights law, as well as decisions of relevant international courts and tribunals for solving specific problems.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            Thematic plan of the discipline:
1. The origin and basic concepts of international human rights law. Sources of international human rights law. 
2. Mechanisms of implementation of human rights. Treaty and Charter-based international bodies. Complaint procedures. 
3. The rights to life and subsistence rights. The right to health, food, adequate housing. 
4. The prohibition of discrimination. Protection of minorities and indigenous people. 
5. The protection of women rights. The prohibition of discrimination against women. 
6. Protection of human integrity. Prohibition of torture and inhuman, degrading treatment or punishment. The prohibition of enforced disappearance of persons. 
7. The right to liberty and security of person. Fair trial guarantees. 
8. The right to protection of privacy. The right to respect of family life. The right to marry and found a family.

            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 20 points), written assignment (up to 20 points), final modular test (up to 20 points). The form of final control is an exam. The exam is conducted in writing. The student's answer to the exam is up to 40 points.
