Learning outcomes
P01. Know, understand and be able to use the basic ones in practice concepts from the theory of physical geography, landscape ecology and also philosophical sciences. P03. Explain the features organization of geographical space depending on its physical and geographical conditions features, features of the landscape structures. P05. Collect, process and analyze information in the region of geographical sciences. P07. Determine the main ones characteristics, processes, history and the composition of the landscape shell and its components P08. Apply models, methods physics, chemistry, geology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. when studying natural and social processes formation and development of geospheres. P09. Analyze composition and structure natural and sociospheres included to the sphere of cross-border interests, regional and local projects on different spatio-temporal scales to ensure successful environmental cooperation

knowledge of theoretical foundations of physics, chemistry, physical geography.
Course content
The content of the discipline reveals different issues subject areas of modern geology: geophysics, geochemistry, general, dynamic and historical geology, geotectonics. The structure of the discipline involves three content modules. Module 1 reveals the importance of geophysical characteristics of the Earth in development and functioning geographic shell, introduces modern models of the structure of the globe and lithosphere, their material composition. Special attention is paid to theoretical and practical issues diagnosis of minerals and rocks. Module 2 is devoted to the study of processes external and internal geodynamics, their connection with physical and geographical conditions and structures of the earth's crust. Module 3 is devoted to the study of historical geology: scientific principles of periodization of the Earth, methods of reconstruction of the history of its development; main geostructures the earth's crust and the peculiarities of their evolution. The study discipline "Geology" is a mandatory discipline of the educational program "Cross-border ecological cooperation" specialty 106 Geography.
