Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the main categories and concepts of psychological science, the history of psychological knowledge, methods of psychology, basic information about mental phenomena, processes, states and their functioning under the influence of psychotropic drugs. 2. To be able to recognize the therapeutic effect and side effects of psychotropic drugs on the cognitive, emotional, volitional and value-motivational spheres of personality, to plan psychotherapeutic intervention with persons taking psychoactive drugs. 3. To have skills of scientific research, search, processing and analysis of information, use of information and communication technologies and basic competencies of psychological support of persons with mental disorders receiving psychopharmacotherapy.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline - the acquisition of knowledge about the subject, method, features of the historical development of psychopharmacology, its current range of research and place in the system of related disciplines; understanding the patterns of effects of psychotropic drugs on the human body and psyche in the treatment of mental disorders. The course reveals the features of the influence of different classes of psychotropic substances on the cognitive, emotional, volitional and value-motivational spheres of personality. The mechanism of action of pharmacological drugs on human mental activity and behavior is considered, the peculiarities of the manifestation of the therapeutic effect, side and toxic effects on the body are determined. The discipline is aimed at the formation of practical competencies of psychodiagnostic examination of persons receiving psychopharmacotherapy and their further socio-psychological support.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: 1. Final test: max.20 points. 2. Evaluation of participation in seminars: max.10 points per seminar (total 2 = 20). 3. Abstract - 20 points. Final evaluation - in the form of a test. The maximum number of points that can be obtained by a student during the semester - 60 points, on the test - 40 points on a 100-point scale; Form of conducting - written. Type of tasks - test. Minimum threshold level of the grade at which the test is considered passed: the grade for the test may not be less than 20 points. Conditions for admission to the exam. A student is not admitted to the test if he / she scored less than 36 points during the semester. The student is admitted to the test provided that 50% of the planned tasks are completed. 0-59 - not credited; 60-100 - credited.
