Learning outcomes
1.1 Modern methods of analysis and presentation data of sociological research.
1.2 Knowledge of the types of quality interviews and their cognitive capabilities.
2.1 Analyze the data of qualitative interviews.
2.2 Evaluate the reliability of the results.
3.1 Demonstrate the ability to organize and provide communication support during the interview.
4.1 Be able to independently formulate the goal, set specific objectives, research, develop tools for quality interviews.

1. To know the methodological and applied bases of methods of collecting sociological information.
2. Have the skills to apply a quality strategy in sociological research.
Course content
1. Introduction. "Qualitative" interviews as a method of gathering information in sociological research. Varieties of quality individual interviews.
2. Free and semi-structured interviews: classification and assignment of different types.
3. The specifics of the interaction of interviewers and informants in quality interviews.
4. Procedure and techniques for conducting quality interviews. Tools to improve the reliability of the data obtained.
5. Focus groups. Research design. Sampling and principles of group planning. Technology for creating focus group tools.
6. Classification of SPF. Specifics of online focus groups.
7. Styles of focus groups. The moderator's work with different types of SPF participants.
8. Special methods in SPF.
9. Principles and methods of data analysis of qualitative interviews. The main aspects of the reliability of the conclusions of the interview.
10. Specifics of preparation and presentation of the report on the basis of quality interviews.

2. Tests (tests) - LR 1.1, LR 1.2, LR 3.1, 20/12 points (3 tests of 7 maximum or 4 minimum points each
3. Preparation of an analytical essay based on the results of own research project LR 1.2, LR 2.1, LR 2.2, LR 3.1 15/9 points
Final control - exam LR 1.1, LR 1.2
The ticket consists of two questions and a practical task. The first two questions are evaluated each for 15/9 points, the practical task - 10/6 points. The maximum score for passing the exam is 40, the minimum is 24 points.
