Learning outcomes
1.1 Know the possibilities of using for research data from electronic social data archives.
1.2 Know the basics of data management in empirical sociological research projects.
1.3 Know the features of secondary data analysis.
2.1 Searching the Internet for the data needed for own research.
2.2 Combine and prepare for analysis data from various electronic sources.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should be familiar with basic methods of data analysis (quantitative and qualitative) and with methodological approaches and basic methods of empirical sociological research.
Course content
1. Social data archives in the Internet.
2. Depositing the results of sociological research in the electronic archive.
3. International (global) indices as a source of information for sociological research.
4. Secondary analysis of data from archives and other sources in the Internet.
5. Big data: sources of generation, methodological problems of use.

1. Test work (test) for topics 1-3, LO1.1, LO1.2, LO2.2 – 15 points / 25 points.
2. Personal work for topics 1-4 is compulsory LO1.1, LO1.2, LO1.3, LO2.1, LO2.2 – 15 points / 25 points.
3. Performing of tasks and presentations in practical training classes for topics 1-5, LO1.1, LO1.2, LO1.3, LO2.1, LO2.2 – 30 points / 50 points.
