Learning outcomes
1.1 Knowledge of the social essence, epistemological and methodological foundations of social indicators.
1.2 Understanding of scientific-theoretical and socio-practical sources of construction of social indicators.
2.1 Improving the skills of interpretation and operationalization of the basic concepts of research, scaling, implementation and evaluation of the results of scale analysis.
2.2 Mastering the skills of constructing social indicators and ensuring the quality of measurement.
3.1 Demonstrate the ability to organize and support communication in the process of group tasks.
4.1 Be able to interpret the results of measuring social indicators, assess the quality of the result.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of coursers "Design of sociological research", "Methods of analysis of sociological data", "Tools of sociological survey".
2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the methodology of sociological research.
Course content
1 The concept and essence of the social indicator as a theoretical construct.
2 Methodological problems of constructing indicators in sociological research.
3 Operationalization of concepts as a basis for building social indicators. Latent-structural analysis of concepts according to Lazarsfeld.
4 One-dimensional scaling. Evaluation and setting scales. Scalogram analysis.
5 Method of pairwise comparisons. Multidimensional scaling.
6 Traditional measurement quality criteria. Statistical indicators of reliability of sociological information.
7 System of social indicators. Methodological problems of building a system of social indicators in sociological research.
8 Construction of social indices (on the example of the index of life satisfaction and the index of social well-being).
9 ModeLR systems of social indicators. Integrated indicators of social development of the country.
10 The concept of social expertise as a method of integrated predictions of the social situation.
