Learning outcomes
1.1 To know the content of basic concepts, categories and new approaches to the sociology of ethnic processes and migration.
2.1 To make theoretical interpretation of ethnic processes and migrations on the basis of modern concepts of social transformation.
2.2 To be able to identify, analyze and interpret trends in socio-cultural changes that occur under the influence of ethnic and migratory processes.
2.3 Critically evaluate and interpret the results of comparative studies of trends in ethnic and migration processes in Ukrainian society with the corresponding trends in European societies.
3.1 Improvement of communication skills.
3.2. Presentation of a research project.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know
- principles of history, general theory and methodology of sociology, specifics of branch sociological knowledge;
- disciplinary content of sociology of economics and culture.
2. To be able to
- create presentations at seminars, in a mass audience;
- use sources of empirical information, understand the nature and importance of social indicators;
3. To have basic skills
- have the skills of group work and public discussion.

1. Ethnic processes as an object of sociological analysis.
2. Macrosocial dimension of ethnic processes.
3. Ethno-national socialization and identification.
4. Problems of interethnic relations.
5. Ethno-national processes in Ukrainian society.
6. Sociology of migration: general characteristics.
7. The essence and typology of migration processes.
8. Causes of migration and models of adaptation of migrants.
9. Labor and educational migration.
10. Problems of forced migration.

Lectures, seminars, tasks for individual work
Assessment methods and criteria
1. Group and individual work at seminars: LR1.1, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2 - maximum 68 points / minimum 51 points (17 classes of 4 max. points or 3 min. score each).
2. Test work 1-2: LR1.1, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 - maximum 12 points (for 2 works) / minimum 4 points (for 2 works).
3. Individual research task: LR1.1, 2.1, 3.2 - maximum 20 points, minimum 5 points.
final assessment: credit.
For students who scored a total of less than the critical minimum of 60 points, to pass the test is required to complete an additional individual task.
