Learning outcomes
1.1 Know the methodological features and cognitive limitations of sociological research. 1.2 Know the system of concepts of modern methodology of sociological research. 1.3 Know the procedures and methods of the researcher (research team) at all main stages of sociological research. 2.1 Basic skills at all main stages of sociological research. 2.2 Take into account the ethics of research when planning and conducting sociological research. 2.3 Prepare publications and presentations based on the results of sociological research.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should be familiar with the basic concepts of data collection and data analysis methods in quantitative and qualitative sociological research, familiar with the basic concepts of the sampling method, and have skills of practical work with a personal computer.
Course content
1. Scientific principles of sociological research. 2. Sociological research as a process: an overview of the main stages. The structure of the program of sociological research and research proposals. 3. The role of theory in sociological research. 4. Choice of research topic. Study of literature. Problem, object, subject of research. 5. Research question and research hypotheses. 6. Research design. 7. Data collection planning. 8. Measurement of variables. Validity and reliability of measurement. 9. The logic of the sampling method. 10. Data analysis: quantitative and qualitative. Review of methods 11. Ethical issues of sociological research 12. Preparation of publications based on research results. Presentation of research results.
