Learning outcomes
1.1.Know the place of sociology of mass communications in the structure of sociological knowledge. 1.2. Know the theoretical approaches to the study of mass communication. 1.3. Know the effects and mass communication. 2.1 Be able to distinguish the characteristics of news. 2.2 Be able to use individual effects to increase efficiency in mass communication. 2.3. Be able to analyze visual materials. 3.1. Apply knowledge and use different methodological approaches in the study of WMC. 4.1. Independently use methods for the study of media.

Course content
1. Sociology of mass communications as a special sociological theory. 2. Theoretical approaches to the study of mass communication. 3. News and their characteristics. 4. Effect and effectiveness in mass communication. 5. Generalization of theoretical approaches to mass communication. 6. The impact of mass communication. 7. Visuality as a characteristic of mass communication. 8. Advertising in the media space. 9. Methodology of research mass communication.

Рerformance of control works on topic 6-10: РН 2.1, РН 2.2,Р.Н. 2.3., РН 3.1., РН4.1 18/10 points 3.The individual task on topic 1-9: РН1.1, РН1.2, РН. 1.3, РН 2.1., РН2.2 РН 2.3, РН 3.1, РН. 4.1.- 24/16 points Final assessment: written exam РН1.1, РН1.2, РН2.1, РН2.2, РН2.3. Сonditions of admission to the final exam. For students who scored a total of the lower number of points for the critical-critical minimum - 36 points to obtain admission to the exam is required to repeat at least one test.
