Learning outcomes
1. Know the basic concepts of theoretical sociology and modern scientific ideas about the incentives for its development. 2. To know modern conceptual ideas regarding the scientific status and definition of disciplinary features of sociology. 3. Apply theoretical knowledge in the analysis of social phenomena and processes. 4. To be able to work with documents, data and social information, sociological research data to analyze phenomena and processes in society 5. Present a research project. 6. To carry out a complex sociological analysis of the processes of various spheres of social life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. know the basics of sociology, political science, history, basic sociological theories that explain social interactions, relationships and processes. 2. to be able to apply critical analysis, to distinguish between scientific and everyday knowledge, to be able to formulate scientific hypotheses and determine the logic of their verification, be able to work in group, be open in communication, conduct a scientific discussion.
Course content
1. The concept of theoretical sociology and modern scientific phenomena about the incentives for its development. 2. Modern conceptual ideas regarding the scientific status and definition of disciplinary features of sociology. 3. Sociology as a fundamental and applied science: the problem of conceptual differentiation of theoretical and empirical levels of sociological knowledge. 4. Multiparadigmatic state and structural composition of the general sociological theory. 5. Principles, laws and categories as components of the conceptual organization of the general sociological theory 6. Status-epistemological features of general sociological theory and special sociological theories as structural components of the system of sociological knowledge. 7. Special sociological theories in the system of sociological knowledge and their scientific status. 8. Differentiation and functional autonomy. 9. Differentiation and functional autonomy of social phenomena, social processes and social subjects as ontological stimuli of conceptualization special sociological theories.

Assessment methods and criteria
semester evaluation: 1. Annotated bibliography, PHI. 1 -10 maximum/ 6 minimum points. 2. Group and individual work in classes: PH1.2, PH2.1, PH2.2 - 10 maximum/6 minimum points. 3. Performance of practical works: RN1.2, RN2.1, RN2.2, RN4 — 20 points (2 works of 10 maximum/ 6 minimum points each) 4. Implementation and presentation of the results of the research task: RN, RN4 - 20 maximum / 12 minimum points. - final assessment: written exam - 40 points. The minimum score for passing the exam (receiving an overall positive grade) is 24 points.
