Learning outcomes
PO03. To be able to calculate the composition of nutrient media, determine the features of their preparation and sterilization, to control the quality of raw materials and finished products based on knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of organic and inorganic substances. PO07. To be able to apply knowledge of the composition and structure of cells of various biological agents to determine the optimal conditions for cultivation and the potential use of the studied cells in biotechnology. PO09. Be able to prepare basic nutrient media for the cultivation of various biological agents. Evaluate the growth characteristics of biological agents on media of different composition. PLO10. To be able to conduct experimental studies to determine the effect of physicochemical and biological environmental factors on the vital activity of cells of living organisms.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses "Cell Biology", "Fundamentals of Ecology". 2. be able to independently apply knowledge of biological disciplines, perform laboratory and practical work, work with scientific and methodological literature. 3. Possess basic skills in working with materials and equipment used in biological and biotechnological laboratories.
Course content
The discipline "Plant Anatomy and Physiology" covers the internal structure of plants, cells, tissues and vegetative organs (stems, roots and leaves), their regularities, the relationship of internal structures with their functions, the formation of elements of the internal structure in ontogeny and in the process of plant evolution, the influence of environmental factors on them, as well as the integration of physiological functions at the level of the whole plant organism. As integrative sciences, plant anatomy and physiology use numerous classical and modern scientific and methodological approaches to understanding the basics of plant life.
