Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully study the "Theory of Management" discipline, the student's level of knowledge and skills must meet the following requirements: 1. Successful completion of courses: 1. Mathematical modeling. 2. Calculus of variations. 3. Differential equations. 2. Know: 1. fundamental foundations of mathematical methods of construction, verification, and research of qualitative characteristics of mathematical models. 2. principles of research of stationary, dynamic, and computer models of control systems. 3. To be able to: 1. formulate mathematical optimization problems for such models. 2. apply the considered methods for researching applied problems of modeling and optimal control. 4. Possess: 1. basic skills in using MATLAB and STATISTICA software packages for numerical analysis. 2. in English at a level not lower than Intermediate.
Course content
Mastering the main theoretical principles of control theory, principles, and methods of solving problems related to the control of complex systems and mastering practical skills for solving control problems. The course includes 2 content parts and 2 control papers. The discipline ends with an exam. As a result of studying the academic discipline, students should: Know: 1. Methods of researching the quality characteristics of control systems. 2. Analytical approaches to building optimal controls for complex systems. Be able: 1. Apply acquired knowledge to solve problems of optimal control of dynamic systems. 2. With the help of analytical methods of analysis of control systems, to study the qualitative characteristics of such systems.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: The maximum number of points that can be obtained by a student is 60 points: 1. Control work #1: 30/18 points. 2. Control work No. 2: 30/18 points. Final evaluation (in the form of an exam): Maximum number of points that can be received by a student: 40 points. Form of conduct: written. Types of tasks: 4 written tasks (2 theoretical questions and 2 practical tasks). The student receives an overall positive grade in the discipline if his grade for the exam is at least 24 (twenty-four) points. A student is admitted to the exam if he scored at least 36 points during the semester.
