Course content
The purpose of the course is to acquire an understanding of the fundamental principles of multimedia systems and methods of their development and application. In the process of studying the discipline, technologies underlying digital images, video, and audio content are considered, including various compression methods and standards, as well as issues related to the transmission of multimedia content over the Internet. As a result of studying the discipline, the student should: know: basic concepts of multimedia systems and principles of their construction, technologies underlying digital images, video, and audio content, fundamental methods of compression and standards for multimedia content, characteristics of multimedia content transmission over networks; be able to: apply theories and principles of multimedia design, utilize various multimedia tools, develop multimedia applications using modern software development technologies.

Lectures, laboratory classes, independent work, written assignment, defense of laboratory work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Laboratory work 1: 20 points, laboratory work 2: 25 points, laboratory work 3: 25 points, written assignment: 30 points. Final evaluation (credit): сredit points are defined as the sum of points for all successfully assessed learning outcomes; the minimum threshold for the total assessment of all components is 60% of the maximum possible number of points.
