Learning outcomes
PR02. Apply modern information technologies, software and Internet resources for information support of professional activities. PR03. Plan, perform, analyze data and present the results of experimental research in the field of biology. PR07. To have techniques of self-education and self-improvement. Be able to project the trajectory of professional growth and personal development, applying the acquired knowledge. PR08. Know and understand the basic terms, concepts, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and at the border of subject areas. PR09. To comply with the provisions of biological ethics, rules of biological safety and biological protection in the process of training and professional activity. PR10. Know the basics of taxonomy, methods of detection and identification of non-cellular life forms, prokaryotes and eukaryotes and apply them to solve specific biological problems.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Have knowledge of academic disciplines taught to students at the "Bachelor" educational level. – Possess basic skills of working in laboratories with laboratory equipment and analytical devices. – Have elementary ideas about the principles of analysis of research results.
Course content
The discipline is mandatory, which involves students mastering the basic principles and skills of conducting research in biology using modern analytical methods that are widely used to solve scientific and analytical problems in chemical, biological, biotechnological, clinical and other laboratories that work with biological objects objects and materials. The discipline also involves students mastering the basic skills of organization and algorithmic planning and conducting experimental research, as well as processing and interpreting the obtained results.

Assessment methods and criteria
- semester assessment: 1. Tests in the form of a concise report on each practical part of laboratory work: RN 1.1, 1.2, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1 – 9.09 points/5.5 points (for each work). The final grade from the educational component, the final form of control for which credit is established, is defined as the sum of points received by students based on the results of tasks that involve the mastery of relevant research methods. Mandatory for receiving a positive final grade (60 points and above and "passed") is the writing of control papers in the form of a summary report on the completed works according to Table 8. It is not allowed to retake the semester control in order to improve a positive grade.
