Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of the disciplines (after two years of study) "Chinese language", "Introduction to Chinese philology", "Fundamentals of translation practice", "Chinese language translation practice", "Linguistic studies of China", etc.; 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philological science (linguistics and literary studies) and cultural studies; 3) mastering the practice of translating Chinese-language texts, the skills of literary and cultural analysis of original works; 4) the ability to distinguish keys and determinatives in hieroglyphs.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is for students to acquire practical skills in deciphering conceptual and categorical information embedded in the form of a hieroglyph; understanding the specifics of the translator's work with hieroglyphic text; possession of theoretical and methodological tools for adequate reproduction of conceptual information, categorical information and national specificity of the Chinese-speaking original in the Ukrainian translation. The educational discipline is one of the components of comprehensive training under the program "Chinese language and literature and translation, English language", selective block "Chinese studies: linguistic and cultural studies and translation". Three content modules are defined within the discipline: Module 1, aimed at familiarizing students with legends and facts about the origin of Chinese writing, Module 2, aimed at introducing the theory of "Liu Shu" and typology of characters, and Module 3, focused on the study of Chinese writing styles. Teaching and assessment languages: Ukrainian, Chinese.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of training organization: lecture and seminar classes conducted using interactive teaching methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: the answer to the seminary lesson, design work. Detailed planned educational events and teaching methods are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. Semester number of points are formed by points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 100 points, in the minimum dimension of 60 points. The discipline ends with a credit, which is exhibited based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Evaluation criteria are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
