Learning outcomes
Apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, mathematics, information technology, etc. in the study of geological processes and structures. Be able to perform research on geospheres using quantitative methods of analysis. Organize and summarize materials of field and laboratory geological research, integrate them from observation to recognition, synthesis and modeling. Communicate the results of geological research to a professional audience, prepare reports and scientific publications. Participate in the development of geological projects and practical recommendations in the geological field. Be able to choose the best methods and tools for geological research, collection and processing of geological data. Ability to use modeling and modeling technologies in mathematical and algorithmic form and to have GIS technologies and techniques for planning and performing filming and computer processing of survey results in a GIS environment.

Course content
There is an acquaintance with the physical basics of digital aerospace imaging, spatial and frequency methods of improving the quality of digital images, methods of image recovery and interference, models and methods of presentation and processing of color images, models and methods of image segmentation and classification. Acquire practical skills in the implementation of these methods of presentation and processing of images in the form of algorithms and perform them in different software environments.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: 7 practical works (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), 7 independent works (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve tasks) without limiting the tools and techniques of problem solving) and conducting 2 written modular tests. The final evaluation is conducted in the form of a test.
