Learning outcomes
LO04. Use information technologies, cartographic and geo-informational models in the field of Earth sciences, in particular in soil science.
LO05. Be able to conduct field and laboratory research.
LO07. Apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. when studying the natural processes of the formation and development of the pedosphere
LO08. Justify choices and use field and laboratory methods to analyze natural and anthropogenic systems and objects.
LO09. To be able to carry out studies of the pedosphere using quantitative methods of analysis.
LO10. To analyze the composition and structure of the pedosphere on different spatial and temporal scales.
LO13. Be able to convey the results of activities to a professional audience and the general public, make presentations and messages.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of such educational disciplines as "Soil science", "Soil research", "Soil physics", "Soil chemistry", "Soil cover and land resources of the world", "Genesis and morphology of soils", "Methods of soil science research", " Soils of Ukraine"; 2) mastery of soil research methods; 3) skills in working with cartographic materials.
Course content
The discipline is devoted to questions of modern soil science about the biosphere ecological functions of the soil cover, types of its quality control, methods of preventing degradation processes.

Assessment methods and criteria
Surveys in test and written form of practical and independent work, modular control works.The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to the semester ones is 27 points. Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points are not allowed to take the exam. The recommended minimum for admission is 33 points.
