Know: Classification signs and factors of dangerous geological processes. Peculiarities of manifestation of dangerous geological processes within different structural-tectonic and landscape-climatic zones. Principles and methods of geological, physical, mathematical modeling of dangerous geological processes, approaches to the development of spatial-analytical models of dangerous geological processes, means of assessing the influence of dangerous geological processes on the functioning of natural and man-made systems.
Be able to: Develop and apply specialized algorithms and software for determining the risks of geohazards; Analyze and assess the impact of dangerous geological processes on the functioning of natural and man-made systems. Determine the risks of geohazards for certain territories. Perform simulation operations of dangerous geological processes in order to make effective decisions
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
to have knowledge of general and historical geology, the basics of hydrogeology, engineering and environmental geology. of Quaternary geology with the basics of geomorphology and data processing of sensing of the Earth
Course content
The discipline belongs to selective bachelors from the cycle of professional training. It is aimed at training highly qualified specialists in the field of Earth sciences who are able to apply methods of system analysis to solve theoretical and practical geological tasks related to the analysis of geological risks and hazards. Basic information on the principles and methods of studying dangerous geological processes and assessing their impact on the functioning of natural and man-made systems is provided. Different genetic geological processes that have a negative impact on society and methods of their forecasting at different levels, which provide opportunities to prevent the occurrence of these processes or minimize the negative impact on man-made objects of various purposes, are considered.

lectures, practical works, independent work of the applicant.
Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale.
Final evaluation in the form of an exam: the exam is held after the completion of the entire discipline. The maximum score for the exam is 40 points, the final score is 24 points. The evaluation for the semester in the academic discipline is calculated taking into account the evaluations for 2 module control papers and practical papers together in the sum of 60 points.
