Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) know the basics of general geomorphology and geology, ecology, as well as possess theoretical knowledge (basic school knowledge) of the physical geography of the world and Ukraine, have an idea of the geographical features and specificity of individual natural zones; 2) be able to establish relationships between ecosystem components, analyze them; 3) to have elementary skills of system analysis, to understand the cause-and-effect relationships between the components of nature.
Course content
The discipline consists of two content modules. The first one analyzes the essence of the concept of soil and modern approaches to its interpretation, examines in detail the modern theoretical and methodological principles and priority directions of soil science research, the importance of soil for nature and practical human activity, the phase composition of soil, the main physical, physico-chemical and morphological properties of soils . In the second content module, the factors of soil formation, the basics of soil formation, modern world and Ukrainian soil classifications are considered, distribution patterns and basic laws of soil geography, soil-geographical zoning are analyzed, the pedosphere is studied as a global shell, its place and role among other geospheres of the Earth.
