Learning outcomes
PLO 4. To assess and critically analyse socially personally and professionally significant issues, and suggest solutions in complex and unpredictable conditions, which requires the application of new approaches and forecasting. PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected). PLO 11. To carry out the scientific analysis of linguistic, speech and literary material, to interpret and structure it according to the relevant methodological principles, to generalise information on the basis of independently processed data.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the following courses: “Fundamentals of the Theory of Translation”, “Fundamentals of the Practice of Translation”, "Introduction to the Persian Philology", “Linguistic and country studies of Iran”, “Medieval Persian Literature”, “Persian Classic Poetics” and “Persian: Advanced level”.
Course content
The purpose of the course is to provide students with profound idea of the methodology of literary translation, to accustom them to carry out a critical analysis of already existing translations and to perform their own literary translations of fiction works from Persian to Ukrainian. The course provides students with detailed knowledge of methodological and stylistic guidelines in European and Ukrainian Persian translation schools. The discipline is an integral part of scientific research component of the educational program.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities comprise interactive lectures and seminar classes. Self-study of students involves preparation for seminar classes, working with reference literature, preparing and presenting research, precis, summaries, fulfillment of written tasks on translation.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on: oral responses, written works, reports and presentations / precis – 24/40 points, modular control works - 12/20 points. Summarizing evaluation in the form of exam is max. 40 / min. 24 points (60% of minimum required quantity); the exam is conducted in written and oral forms, and proposes to answer two theoretical questions and complete one practical task. Students, who totally scored less than 36 points during the semester, may not participate in the exam.
