Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to successfully master the knowledge of the discipline "Geography: Countries and Regions", students must:
have basic knowledge of the school course "Geography;
to be able to analyze the causes and evaluate the consequences of demographic, migration, social and economic processes in the regions;
to have modern methods of searching, systematization and primary processing of geographical information; elementary skills of analysis and synthesis of geographical information, comparative geographical analysis.
Course content
According to the content, the study discipline "Geography: Countries and Regions" is divided into two parts - the geography of the countries of Europe, North America and the geography of the countries of Asia, Australia, Africa, and Latin America. Part 1 - "Geography of the countries of Europe, North America" - is taught to students in the III semester in the amount of 6 ECTS credits. Part 2 - "Geography of the countries of Asia, Australia, Africa, Latin America" - is taught to students in the IV semester in the amount of 5 ECTS credits. The study discipline "Geography: countries and regions" is devoted to the study of laws and factors of the territorial organization of society and its components at the level of subregions of the world, geographical problems of the spatial organization of the regional economy. The features of the territorial (international) division of labor, placement of productive forces, regional policy, territorial organization of production, geopolitics and geostrategy of world regions, spatial socio-economic proportions, territorial socio-economic structures, transport and infrastructure networks and systems, as well as settlement systems in borders of countries and regions of the world.

Assessment methods and criteria
Final assessment in the form of credit. Assessment is carried out in written form in the form of detailed and test tasks. The maximum number of points in the test is 40; the minimum number of points that are added to the semester marks is 24 (60% of the maximum points that are allocated for credit).
The final evaluation in the form of an exam is conducted in a written format. The maximum number of points during the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam).
