Learning outcomes
PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of the Persian language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 13. To analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and Persian fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process of Iran and Ukraine. PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PLO 17. To collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them for solving complex problems in specialized fields of professional activity and/or education.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the disciplines: “Introduction to Oriental Philology”, “Lingual Country Studies of the Oriental Languages”, “Oral and Ancient Eastern Literature”, “Medieval Eastern Literature”; knowledge of the main literary concepts, the history and culture of Iran in its main features, the periodization of the history of Iran; peculiarities of phonetics, vocabulary and grammar of the modern Persian language at advanced level.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to highlight generalized, systematized information about the "new poetry" of Iran – the poetic trend of the 20th century; to outline its features and main characteristics; to acquaint the students with the works of the leading Iranian poets of this period. The discipline belongs to the block of disciplines of the student's free choice and has a theoretical direction.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities comprise interactive lectures and seminar classes. Students’ self-study involves preparation for oral responses, reports with the analyses of scientific literature, research presentation, precis, summaries.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on: oral responses, reports and presentations / precis – 24/40 points, modular control works – 12/20 points. Summarizing evaluation in the form of exam is max. 40 / min. 24 points (60% of minimum required quantity); the exam is conducted in written and oral forms, and proposes: 1) to answer two theoretical questions; 2) to complete a practical task. Students, who totally scored less than 36 points during the semester, may not participate in the exam.
