Successful mastering of the disciplines "Oriental language: advanced level", "Medieval Eastern literature", "Theoretical grammar of the first Oriental language".
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the historical changes of the Persian language from the time of classical Persian literature to the present day based on the material of medieval poetic texts.The discipline aims to overcome the obstacles that prevent students from correct perceiving unfamiliar poetic texts of the classical period. The discipline belongs to the block of disciplines of the student's free choice and has a practical direction.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical classes involve active work of students in the analysis and translation of samples of Persian poetry in the classroom, self-study work of students. Control from the teacher's side is carried out through an oral questioning and the organization of written tasks, tests, modular control works.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on the oral testing, written assignments, translation exercises – 36/60 points, modular test papers – 24/40 points, final test paper – 12/20 points. The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 – failed.
