Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the state and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the state and foreign languages. PLO 10. To demonstrate in-depth knowledge of folklore studies, intercultural communication and the foreign language. PLO 19.2. Apply knowledge of the theory of industry translation, solve problems related to the analysis of folklore material. PLO 20.2. Use communicative strategies in communicating with participants in the translation process

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the study of this discipline, students must possess the necessary professional knowledge of the theory and history of translation, the methodological toolkit of translation of oral poetic works, textological skills that form the basis of the translation of folklore samples of various types. To be able to work with educational and scientific information in the field of folklore studies and translation, to process it, to make generalizations and conclusions regarding the peculiarities of the translation of the ethno-verbal heritage; to give comments on the result of the translation activity.
To have the basic skills of translation, description and evaluation of the value of a folklore product.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to systematize, deepen and consolidate the students' theoretical knowledge obtained during the study of the disciplines of the professional specialized training of masters specializing in "Folklore" according to the selective block of disciplines "Theory and practice of translation of folk literature", to form the readiness of masters for translation activities in the field of folk culture; translation of texts of varying complexity (genres of folk art, descriptions of rituals, etc.); integrate theoretical knowledge and practical skills; to gain experience of independent work as a translator during the translation of folklore samples of various types.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Industrial practice consists of several stages: I. introduction - orientation conference (coordinating the order of work, familiarization with agreements on practice bases, providing master's students with a package of necessary documentation and methodical support for industrial practice; II. preparatory – familiarization with the work of the practice base, familiarization with the program and practice tasks; drawing up an individual plan for practice and coordinating it with the manager; III. production - implementation of the program (selection of materials for professional translation (fairy tale, legend, paremias; arrangement, comments on the translated material); IV. Final - approval (presentation of translation activity results).
Forms of training: consultations of the scientific supervisor, independent work, seminar-defense of completed works.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level evaluation of the student's independent work - 20% of the total grade, and evaluation of practical training - results (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility) - 80% of the total grade.
Assessment of work and performance of individual tasks: creative and research tasks (translation of folklore texts of varying complexity, translation presentation) - 60/100 points. The discipline ends with a differentiated assessment.
