Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the state and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the state and foreign languages. PLO 14. To create, analyze and edit texts of various styles and genres in scientific folkloristic discourse. PLO 16. Use specialized conceptual knowledge of folkloristics to solve complex problems and problems that require updating and integration of knowledge, often in conditions of incomplete or insufficient information and conflicting requirements. PLO 19.2. Apply knowledge of the theory of industry translation, solve problems related to the analysis of folklore material. PLO 20.2. Use communicative strategies in communicating with participants in the translation process.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the theoretical foundations of general linguistics, translation studies, English and Ukrainian grammar, Ukrainian stylistics and of English languages. Be able to apply translation strategies when translating folklore tests from English to Ukrainian and x Ukrainian to English. To have the techniques and methods of traditional linguistics analysis of units of all levels of organization of the English system and Ukrainian languages, methods of stylistic analysis of linguistic phenomena.
Course content
Purpose of discipline – to ensure the formation of students' translation competence, which consists in the ability to carry out at a high professional level the written translation of folkloristic texts and their editing, in particular, to comprehensively approach the awareness of the identity of aspect stratification and the presence of content equivalents in the original language and the language of translation; deliberately avoid literalisms and apply transformations of linguistic units to achieve the adequacy of their translation; to find correct contextual equivalents of content units in the translation language and the original language; to look for grammatical phenomena and constructions difficult to translate in texts in the original language and to apply adequate versions of their reproduction in the original language; familiarize yourself with online resources that can be useful in the work of a translator and editor, in particular, CAT tools and platforms for translation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Answering a seminar class, performance of written translations using Internet resources, performance of oral translations using Internet resources, control work with open answers, credit.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, evaluation is carried out according to the types of works and the form of the counter. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "enrolled". Students who did not score the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "not enrolled". Students who scored less than 60 points in total during the semester must prepare material on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing independent works, performing translations, or, if necessary, write a control paper.
