Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prior to taking this course, students should know - the basics of literary analysis of works of art; - historical conditions of development of Ukrainian literature; - genre and style specifics of contemporary Ukrainian literature; - the peculiarities of coexistence of different stylistic trends within the contemporary literary discourse: realism, modernism, postmodernism, avant-garde, surrealism, "magical realism", etc; - basic literary concepts, to operate freely with them when analysing works of art. be able to - analyse the ideological and artistic content of literary works, writers' works in the context of the current requirements of modern literary criticism; - identify literary phenomena, collect, systematise, describe and analyse the material under study; - to navigate the modern scientific and critical literature on the problems of development of Ukrainian poetry, prose, drama.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to provide a professional study of the main trends in the development of contemporary Ukrainian literature, to form students' objective scientific knowledge of the contemporary Ukrainian literary process, its ideological and thematic, genre and style specifics. The course consolidates and deepens basic knowledge of the history of Ukrainian literature, in particular, the patterns of development of the Ukrainian historical and literary process in its interrelationship with world literature and culture. It continues the systematic study of bright contemporary literary phenomena in a variety of styles and genres. In the process of studying the discipline, students study the peculiarities of the poetics of contemporary lyrics, drama, short stories, novels, and novels, the ideological and thematic, genre and style specifics of the works of Yuriy Andrukhovych, Oksana Zabuzhko, Halyna Pahutyak, Serhiy Zhadan, Yuriy Vynnychuk, and others.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Answers at the seminar, participation in professional discussions during seminars. Independent work, creative tasks, presentation of the results of independent work in the form of reports, messages, presentations. Module test / Creative project.
Assessment methods and criteria
1. Oral presentation, additions and participation in discussions at seminars: 21 / 35 points 2. Independent work (analysis, synopsis of texts): 25/45 points 3. Final control work in written form/ Creative project - 14 / 20 points Final evaluation in the form of credit: the final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final test. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures.
