Program Learning Outcomes PLO 1. Know and be able to analyze basic concepts, categories, and theories, implement strategies and analyze trends in the development of Ukrainian literature, the history of formation and development of Ukrainian literary studies, the influence of folklore on the development of Ukrainian literature; use the knowledge and skills in professional activities. Be able to recognize the importance of lifelong learning with the aim of increasing the acquired knowledge and gaining new professional knowledge to enhance personal development skills and to effectively organize the educational process. Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students are expected to possess: 1. essential knowledge of the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process, literary in particular; national ritual and non-ritual folk art. 2. the ability to: collect factual material; formulate a problem and outline ways to solve it; formulate scientific issues and outline ways to solve them; abstract scientific analytics, operating with various information sources; distinguish folklore content in the modern infospace; 3. elementary skills of scientific research of the edition and interpretation of texts of Ukrainian folk art as a realized phenomenon, as well as the methodology of teaching folklore in the primary.
Course content
This course aims to prepare students to carry out a scientific analysis of the folklorism of the Ukrainian literature author's text in order to objectify the processes of artistic action inherent in collective and individual subjectivity; to familiarize students with the methodological toolkit, which will make it possible to identify intertextual connections inherent in two artistic systems: static - fiction - and dynamic - folklore; to form practical skills for conducting content analysis of an artistic text with the emphasis on folklore archetypal imagery and semiotic sign system. Abstract. The educational discipline is aimed at identifying various forms and vectors of interaction of Ukrainian literature (from baroque to postmodern) with the national folklore tradition. The object of the course is a literary text, and the subject is folklore inclusions learned by the author and applied in an individual creative product; content and formal architecture of literature folklorism.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline combines lectures, seminars, and independent learning, and teaching methods: academic discussion, research work, miltimedia based learning, academic conversation.
Assessment methods and criteria
Formative assessment is targeted at classroom performance during the semester, after the lectures on the relevant topics, (classroom performance/reports (10 points), scientific (popular science) article/review/essay/screenplay (24 points), participation in a discussion ( 56 points).The student can score a maximum of 80 points and a minimum of 48 points. The discipline ends with a pass/fail exam. final grade for the course (max 100 points) is a sum of the points earned for the formative assessment (max – 80 points; min – 48 points) and summative assessment is a pass/fail exam (max – 20 points; min – 12 points). A pass/fail exam is carried out in the form of written test tasks (20 tasks). The following learning outcomes (LO) are evaluated at the pass/fail exam: LO 1.1; LO 1.2; LO 1.3; LO 2.1; LO 2.3; LO 4.1.
