Learning outcomes
PLO 1 Communicate fluently in English on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists, use English for the organization of effective intercultural communication. PLO 5 Cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 11 Know the principles and techniques of creating the texts of various genres and styles in English and Ukrainian. PLO 18 Have the skills to manage complex projects when solving professional problems in the field of a chosen philological specialization and be responsible for the decisions made in unpredictable situations. PLO 22.2 Know the principles of creativity process and writing texts of different genres, as well as understand concepts and laws of the book market, principles of literary works analysis, their critical assessment.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the chronology, stylistic trends and main phenomena of Ukrainian and foreign literature, be well versed in the modern literary process; to have basic skills of literary analysis. Be able to professionally evaluate artistic content; compose advertising texts and slogans, take into account the potential risks of a future publishing or cultural project with a business component; demonstrate acquired skills while working on one's own project; use interactive and multimedia tools.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the main trends of the book market, in particular, the specifics of the book publishing industry in Ukraine, as well as with the features of the modern literary process. Outline the main trends of the world book market (the ratio of paper and digital editions, the percentage of audio books; accounting for book production and preparation of works for translation; protection of copyright and the fight against book "piracy" and smuggling). While studying the discipline, students study the peculiarities of the publishing business in Ukraine, legislation on the protection of copyright and related copyright in Ukraine; become familiar with the main stages of market planning in the field of book publishing; solve publishing tasks of an educational direction.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods: lecture, seminar, independent work. Educational activities: oral answers, additions / participation in the discussion, participation in the master class, defense of an individual creative project.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral response (minimum 1 - maximum 10), addition / participation in the discussion (minimum 1 - maximum 5), participation in a master class (minimum 1 - maximum 5), defense of a creative project (minimum 1 - maximum 20). The form of the final evaluation is the credit. Complience scale of grades: "Passed" - 60-100. "Failed" - 0-59.
