PLO 3 Organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO 5 Cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 8 Know and understand the language system, general characteristics of literature as the art of words, history of the Ukrainian language and literature, and be able to apply this knowledge in the professional activity. PLO 13 Analyze and interpret Ukrainian and foreign fiction and folklore, define their specificity and place in literature process (according to the selected specialization). PLO 15 Carry out linguistic and literary analysis of the texts of various styles and genres.

To study the course, the student should successfully master the previous literary disciplines of the educational program, possess basic literary terminology, and be able to apply various methodologies to analyze a literary text. "

The subject of the сourse is the history of literary phenomena in Western Europe from the 20th century to the first half of the 21st century. The discipline introduces students to the characteristic features of the literary process, the main trends, directions, and movements of this period, as well as the works of leading representatives of the literary era. The goal of the discipline is the theoretical and practical mastery of the history of Western European literature from the 20th century to the first half of the 21st century and the development of the necessary professional competencies for philology students.

The educational activities include answering at the seminars, the writing of an essay and passing the final test. The work program of the discipline includes the implementation of lectures and seminars, as well as students' independent work.

The final grade for the course is determined by the sum of points from ongoing and final assessments. Ongoing assessment forms include seminar participation (max 35/ min 21 points), preparation of a creative work (max 10/ min 6 points), and completion of a final test (max 15/ min 9 points). The total for ongoing assessment forms is max 60/ min 36 points. The final assessment form is an exam, and the grade for the exam is max 40/ min 24 points. To be eligible for the exam, a minimum of 36 points is required. To receive a passing grade for the course, the exam score must be a minimum of 24 points. The grading scale on a 100-point scale is as follows: 90–100: 5 (Excellent) 85–89: 4 (Good) 75–84: 3 (Satisfactory) 65–74: 3 (Satisfactory) 60–64: 3 (Satisfactory) 35–59: 2 (Fail)
