Course content
The aim of the academic discipline is to further acquaint students with the fundamentals of literary creativity, particularly the theory and practice of prose. This involves understanding the mechanics of prose genres, developing skills in creative writing, and the ability to express ideas in the artistic form of a literary work across its phonetic, morphemic, lexical, and syntactic levels. The course content is focused on working with literary language as material for expressing the form and content of a prose work by the writer as a participant in literary communication. The discipline includes classroom work in the form of practical sessions and independent study dedicated to the study of practical manuals, critically reading fiction, and completing creative assignments. Throughout the semester, students learn the secrets of writing prose texts, edit their work, and draw inspiration from Ukrainian (master classes) and foreign prose writers.
