Learning outcomes
.PLO 1 Communicate fluently in English on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists, use English for the organization of effective intercultural communication. PLO 2 Work effectively with information: select necessary information from various sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic bases, critically analyze, interpret, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 4 Understand the fundamental principles of human existence, nature, society. PLO 8 Know and understand the language system, general characteristics of literature as the art of words, history of the Ukrainian language and literature, and be able to apply this knowledge in the professional activity. Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of the academic disciplines "Fundamentals of Linguistics," parts 1-2 of the comlex discipline "Modern Ukrainian Language". Proficiency in the methodologies of phonetic and phonemic analysis of words.
Course content
"The objective is to familiarize students with the fundamental theoretical principles and concepts of morphology and word formation, cultivating the skills to apply acquired knowledge in the process of morphemic and derivational analysis of words. The course entails acquiring basic knowledge in: Morphology: the morpheme as the fundamental unit of morphology and a component of the morphemic structure of a word; types of morphemes; morphemic structure of a word. Word formation: derivational structure of a word; derivational type as the foundation of the word-formation system of the language; key concepts of word formation (derivative unit, derivational category; derivational pair, derivational chain, derivational nest, derivational paradigm); methods of word formation."

Educational activities include participating in seminar discussions, responding to frontal examinations, and completing module control work. Teaching methods encompass lectures, practical sessions, and independent study.
Assessment methods and criteria
Response during a seminar session – minimum 3/maximum 5; response during a frontal examination – minimum 3/maximum 5; module control work 1 – minimum 11/maximum 15; module control work 2 – minimum 16/maximum 20; Final assessment form – exam: minimum 24/maximum 40. Grading scale: "Excellent" – 90-100, "Good" – 75-89, "Satisfactory" – 60-74, "Unsatisfactory" – 35-59.
