Course content
The aim of the course is to explore the phenomenon of literary creativity as a subject of study and a creative project, to provide an understanding of the nature of creativity as emotional and rational activity, to identify the moral incentives of literary creativity, to master the components of the creative process, conscious and unconscious elements of the artistic act, and to familiarize students with the principles of theoretical and technical preparation of a writer and their literary craftsmanship. This is a propaedeutic course designed to adapt students of various levels of creative ability to productive work within the framework of the comprehensive discipline "Workshops of Literary Creativity", to provide a general understanding of creative activity and its factors, both external and internal, conscious and unconscious, social and individual-psychological. Studying practical guides, critically reading fictional and journalistic texts, and engaging in creative writing tasks help students develop a stable awareness that a creative personality cannot do without well-developed imagination, intuition, general erudition, the ability to respond promptly to current issues, and the skill to deeply and masterfully penetrate the essence of events and phenomena, truthfully generalize them from the perspective of universal, state, and national interests. Within the discipline, students master the secrets of writing poetic and prose works, edit their writing, adopt experiences of Ukrainian (master classes) and foreign writers, and learn to express their own thoughts boldly, interestingly, and convincingly.
