PLO 1. To assess individual academic and scientific-professional activity, to build and implement an effective strategy of self-development and professional self-improvement. PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically the vital social, individual and professional issues and to offer tactics of their solution, in difficult and unpredictable conditions, which requires the application of new approaches and forecasting. PLO 13. To explain the essential concepts of specific philological issues, personal point of view and its substantiation both to the specialists and general public, students in particular, in a comprehensible and reasoned form. PLO 18. To present the results of one’s research to the academic community in academic publications or presentations at conferences, round tables, seminars, etc.

Course content
The subject of the academic discipline is the modern methodology of science, a set of methodological tools of science, as well as the right of intellectual property and the commercialization of the results of intellectual activity. The discipline consists of two content modules. The module "Methodology of scientific research" forms an understanding of science as research, reveals the meaning of the concepts of "methodology", methods", "research methods", and introduces the specific-scientific, general-scientific and philosophical levels of methodology. The module "Fundamentals of intellectual property" reveals the role of intellectual property as intellectual capital in the socio-economic development of society and its place in humanitarian science, and introduces the main forms and mechanisms of commercialization of the results of intellectual activity. The module "Research methods in linguistics" reviews the main methods of linguistic analysis and methodological aspects of writing a master's thesis.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities during the semester: lectures, discussions; oral answers in practical classes; additions, participation in the discussion; modular test.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment of theoretical knowledge and skills takes place systematically during the semester, in accordance with the thematic plan of classes. At the end of the first and third modules, module tests are conducted (2 in total) with theoretical and practical tasks on the knowledge of the methodological basis of scientific research (MCW 1) and on the knowledge of civil and legal legislation in the field of intellectual property (MCW 3). MCW 1 and MCW 2 can be conducted in the form of tests. The final evaluation takes into account the student's mastery of the discipline at all levels.
