Learning outcomes
PLO 6. Use information and communicative technologies to solve complicated specialized tasks and professional issues.
PLO 7. To understand major problems of philology and approaches to their solution with the use of relevant methods, in particular, innovative interdisciplinary approaches of applied (computational) linguistics and information technologies; to explain their interrelation in the integrated system of interdisciplinary knowledge.
PLO 8. To know the systemic characteristics of the Ukrainian and English languages, structural and systemic organization of the written and oral texts as a verbal communication mechanism; to know the general properties of literature as an art of word and be able to use this knowledge in professional activity.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Successful completion of all courses of 1-6 semesters of study from thematic blocks (Mathematical foundations of the specialty, Informatics, Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, Introduction to Philology, English language);
2) Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general and Ukrainian linguistics, mathematical and computer linguistics, computer science, and programming;
3) Mastery of linguistic analysis techniques at all language levels; basics of corpus technologies, skills of mathematical and computer modeling of linguistic phenomena; mathematical basics of computer technology;
4) Ability to use phonetic and prosodic transcription, carry out corpus markup at different levels, and use a programming language to solve problems of input, output, and processing of text information.
Course content
Within the scope of the discipline, the main concepts and terminological apparatus of phonetic (phonoscopic) examination, and its varieties are considered, in particular, the examination of sound recordings and the linguistic examination of oral speech are considered in detail. The basics of speech acoustics and the basics of acoustic-linguistic analysis of spoken speech, necessary for the analysis of phonograms, are studied. Students get acquainted with the methods and software tools for the analysis of physical speech parameters, the main identification and diagnostic tasks of the field, and learn the systems of identification signs necessary for the identification of a person by pronunciation. The ways of practical application of acquired knowledge, abilities, and skills are outlined at seminars and laboratory classes.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester final score is formed by the points received by the student during the semester and the points received on the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam). The final assessment is conducted in the form of a comprehensive exam:
the maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points (positive grade) that are added to semester grades is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam);
the exam is conducted in the form of a written test and involves the completion of three tasks: the answer to two theoretical questions, each of which is evaluated with a maximum of 10 points (25% of the final score), as well as the completion of a practical task (analysis of speech samples, identification of a person by voice, writing expert's conclusions), which is evaluated with a maximum of 20 points (50% of the final score).
