Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Students should know: Ukrainian language at a level sufficient to read unadapted literary texts and critical literature; be aware of the specifics of the artistic style of the Ukrainian language.
2. Students should be able to: work with texts in Ukrainian: read, understand the meaning, analyze the structure, use dictionaries and other reference books to clarify the incomprehensible.
Course content
The course provides an understanding of the main routes of development of Ukrainian contemporary literature and the literary process in general, introduces the basic principles of researching literary texts, their place and significance in the history of Ukrainian contemporary literature, and aspects of literary analysis. Attention is focused on such problematic issues of the history of literature as the literary canon, periodization of the history of literature, the creative will of the author, censorship and self-censorship, literature and the market.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study: lectures, practical classes, independent work.
Teaching methods: explanation of new material, heuristic conversation, collective analysis of a literary text (semantic, psychoanalytic, intertextual), independent work with scientific literature and texts of fiction.

Oral answers, additions, independent tasks, heuristic search work, abstract tasks, final test tasks, module control work, exam.
