Course content
The master's thesis is a research work aimed at studying an actual problematic issue in a particular field of linguistics or literary studies, is the result of theoretical and empirical study of the chosen problem, its creative comprehension and experimental verification of the search results. It must be related to the practical needs of a particular speciality and contain a methodological (for the Russian Language in Higher Education), translation studies (for the Practical Translation for Students of Russian as a Foreign Language) or linguistic and cultural component (for the Ukrainian Language). The quality of the master's thesis, its content and defence determine the level of a graduate's preparedness for future professional, including scientific, activities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Choosing a topic, consulting with the supervisor, processing scientific sources, collecting material and its certification, writing the text of the research, designing the work, reviewing, pre-defence, defence. Search and partial search methods. Work with scientific and reference literature, printed and electronic educational publications and Internet resources. Methods of analysis and synthesis. Methods of classification and systematisation. Methods of observation, generalisation, abstraction, formalisation. Information and explanatory method. Communicative reproductive and productive method.
Assessment methods and criteria
Methods and criteria for evaluating various types of research activities in the process of writing a master's thesis (phased completion of the supervisor's tasks, processing of the reviewer's comments, and defence) are provided in the work programme.
