PLO1. Communicate fluently on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the state and foreign languages orally and in writing, use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PLO3. Organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO10. To know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state and foreign languages. PLO14. To use the New Greek and English languages in oral and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (official, informal, neutral), to solve communicative problems in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Full-time form

The student must successfully master Parts 1-6 of the Complex Discipline "Theoretical and Practical Course of Modern Greek", the Comprehensive Discipline "Fundamentals of Neo-Hellenistics", "Introduction to Linguistics", "Linguistic Studies of Modern Greek Countries", "Practice of Translation from Modern Greek for Intercultural Communication", know the New Greek language at the B2 level, basic linguistic and literary concepts, be able to use lexicographic sources of the New Greek language, plan and evaluate their own work, use interactive and multimedia tools, have basic skills: critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena, use of foreign language professional informative sources, production of oral and written messages in the New Greek language, interaction and cooperation in learning in situations of search and creative nature.

The purpose of the compulsory course in Modern Greek stylistics is to provide students with training in stylistics, to systematize students' knowledge gained in practical language classes, as well as in theoretical linguistic and literary courses, to teach students the basics of stylistic analysis of Modern Greek texts of various genres for their correct further interpretation, including translation.The course involves familiarizing students with the interpretation of the concept of "style" by various linguistic and literary schools, especially Greek theorists. Lectures on functional stylistics and linguistic stylistics are focused on mastering their generalized theoretical positions on the material of the New Greek language. The practical part of the course consists of working with authentic texts of various genres, practicing the knowledge of Greek grammar acquired during the course of study, expanding active vocabulary, in particular, enriching knowledge of phraseological units of the Greek language.

Classes are held in the form of lectures and practical classes. Students are invited to discuss various theoretical and practical issues. Students' independent work involves working with theoretical sources and authentic texts of various styles and genres. Students have to complete three creative assignments. The course ends with an exam.

The semester grade is formed by the points earned by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire course. The total grade for the semester consists of the points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on processing the material to prepare for classroom classes: oral answers, supplements, tests, preparation and presentation of creative tasks). All types of work for the semester have a total of 60 points in the maximum dimension and 36 points in the minimum dimension. If a student scores less than 24 points in an exam (i.e., 60% of the 40 points allotted for the exam), they are not added to the semester grade, regardless of the number of points obtained during the semester.
