Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the theoretical and practical courses of the Ukrainian language taught during the previous years of undergraduate studies ("Practical grammar of the Ukrainian language", "Practical phonetics of the Ukrainian language", "Fundamentals of the theory of language communication", "Speech", "Practical course of Ukrainian languages", "Modern Ukrainian language: Lexicology. Morphology. Word formation". 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics.
Course content
The discipline is designed to provide foreign students with the necessary theoretical knowledge of the peculiarities of spoken Ukrainian, to acquaint students with the basic communicative qualities of the language, the norms of the modern Ukrainian literary language, and the means of linguistic expression; to develop students' ability to use the literary spoken language in a relaxed informal communication. The practical tasks of the course are aimed at enriching the lexical stock of foreign students on various topics relevant and necessary for the further development of the student as a specialist; at consolidating various grammatical and syntactic structures of spoken Ukrainian; at developing students' communicative abilities both in oral and written form; at developing creative thinking of foreign students on the basis of comparing their native language with Ukrainian.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities: lectures, practical classes, independent work. Methods: method of problem statement, demonstration-explanatory, partial-search methods and search methods. independent work with scientific and reference literature. Practical methods of teaching speech. Comparative method (relying on the articulation base of the native language, taking into account its interfering influence). Interactive and communicative methods (surveys, conversations, quizzes, etc.).
