            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            To know the basics of European Union law, features of EU legal acts (directives, regulations, decisions, conclusions, recommendations), the division of competences between Member States and the EU; basics of the EU internal market;
To be able to apply knowledge to address practical issues related to the EU internal market, including the movement of goods and services
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            Thematic plan of the discipline:
1. Economic foundations of competition law. Concepts and legal foundations of antitrust policy of the European Union.
2. Competition rules applicable to enterprises (private sector).
3. Anti-competitive agreements.
4. Abuse of dominant position.
5. Joint ventures.
6. Control of the concentration.
7. The concept and procedure of competition rules applicable to states (public sector). State aid
8. International legal forms of competition policy coordination
9. Competition legislation of Ukraine. Harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with EU legislation.

            Planned learning activities and teaching methods
        
        
            Lectures, seminar, solving practical cases, the execution of self-study tasks; performing group tasks-simulations
        
    
            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Assessment is conducted according to the module rating system. Test work entails test tasks (60% of the grade for the work) and open-ended questions (40% of the grade). Individual work is executed by a team of 2-3 students. The results of work on the relevant topic are presented at the seminar. The final version of the work in the form of a presentation can be designed after the class in which it was presented. Final assessment is conducted in the form of the credit: the credit is  based on the results of the student's work during the semester. If a student`s final score is from 60 and higher, the student gets "passed". The students who have scored less than 35 points shall not be eligible for the credit.
