Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the phonetic laws, grammatical structures and syntax rules of the Turkish language. 2. Possess interpreting skills; 3. Master the basic principles of analysis and evaluation criteria of the source text and lexical, grammatical, syntactic and stylistic problems of translation.
Course content
The discipline "Fundamentals of Simultaneous Interpretation" is a part of the educational and professional training program for the bachelor's degree in the field of knowledge 03 "Humanities", specialty 035 "Philology", specialization 035.06 "Philology (Oriental Languages and Literatures (translation inclusive)". The course focuses on the acquisition of basic skills and abilities of simultaneous interpretation, development of working memory, listening comprehension of Turkish, recording and translation of material. Mastering simultaneous interpreting techniques should ensure comprehensive training of a Turkish interpreter and contribute to professional development. The course is a generalized and in-depth study of the Turkic disciplines studied earlier. During the semester work, students are offered to work together on the material for teamwork, which involves mastering teamwork skills and a responsible attitude to the practical implementation of translation activities. The course is taught in semester VII and ends with a test.

Evaluation of semester work: 1. Answer at a practical lesson: 15 - 25 points. 2. Preparation of simultaneous translation of video material: 15 - 25 points. 3. Test work: 9 - 15 points. 4. Creating a draft of a common dictionary: 9 - 15 points. 5. Final control work: 12 - 20 points.
