Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: 1) the rules of phonetic design (stress, pause, intonation) of statements of different types (dialogue, monologue) in accordance with the situation of intercultural communication; 2) the specifics of the morphological organization of modern English; 3) functional and stylistic norms of use of lexical items of the synonymous range, idioms, expressions in accordance with the situation of intercultural communication. 2. Be able to: 1) produce prepared or unprepared monologue statements summarizing and/or supplementing the content of what they have heard or seen, following the laws of genre and style; 2) reproduce the content of what they have read; and express their own opinion about what they have read or heard, giving arguments for it; 3) use socio-cultural knowledge and skills in foreign language communication; 4) distinguish grammatical structures/phenomena when reading or listening to a text and determine their communicative meaning.
Course content
Academic discipline "Multisemester discipline. English Language" is a part of the educational and professional program for training specialists in the educational qualification level "Bachelor", field of knowledge 03 Humanities, specialty 035 Philology. The discipline is designed to develop students' communicative, linguistic and socio-cultural competencies; to develop students' cognitive competence in relation to other types of competencies; positive attitude to mastering both the language and culture of the English-speaking world; awareness of the functions of a foreign language in the educational process and in society; to present knowledge about the culture, history, realities and traditions of the country whose language is studied, to develop the ability to use, if necessary, various strategies to meet didactic needs. The discipline is a normative educational one and is taught in the first and second semester in the amount of 300 hours (10 credits). Classes are held in the form of practical classes. The course includes 8 content modules. The discipline ends in the first semester with an exam, and in the second semester with a test.

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation of semester work: 1. Current assessment (answer at a practical lesson): 20 - 60 points. 2. Project work in the form of an oral presentation: 10 - 20 points. 3. Independent work: 5 - 10 points. 4. Modular work: 25 - 40 points. The grade is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who do not score the minimum positive number of points - 60 - receive a "fail" grade. Students who have scored a total of less than 60 points in a semester must pass the test by completing material on the topics for which they have a debt in the form of independent work, essays, or, if necessary, write a test.
