Learning outcomes
PLO 7. Understand the main problems of Arabic (Hindi / Persian) philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of the Arabic (Hindi / Persian) language and literature, and be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PLO 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, to be able to apply them in professional activities. PLO 17. To collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or study.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of a school course in the humanities.
Course content
The structure of the course includes 2 content parts: the first one introduces the topics of the course that are practical, and the second one is aimed at forming the theoretical basis of students' knowledge. The first part of the course focuses on practical familiarization with the IPA table; vecundity parameters of the oriental languages studied by students; mastering the scheme of language fields of the cerebral cortex; and familiarization with linguistic and statistical laws. The second part of the course examines the grounds for the theoretical division of knowledge about world languages into synchronic and historical, and the former into bodies of knowledge about linguistic pragmatics, syntax, and desygnics. The form of final control of the course is a test.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, an assessment of theoretical training, which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and an assessment of practical training, which accounts for 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: 1. Oral answers, participation in discussions: 12 - 20 points. 2. Test tasks: 12 - 20 points. 3. Written work: 24 - 40 points. 4. Final written work: 12 - 20 points.
