Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Work effectively with information: select the necessary information from various sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 8. To know and understand the system, languages, general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of Turkish and English languages and literatures and be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that determine them. PLO 15. Carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PLO 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, to be able to apply them in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the norms of the Ukrainian literary language, differentiating features of texts of different styles. 2. 2. Be able to identify texts that need editing. 3. Possess basic skills of linguistic text analysis.
Course content
The course provides scientifically sound methodological foundations of editing, criteria for functional language analysis, and a clear understanding of the functional styles of the Ukrainian literary language. Based on a set of theoretical knowledge on the basics of editing, students develop skills in the practical use of methods of working with text, its structure, language and style, and the ability to provide editorial analysis of the author's original, evaluate the linguistic and communicative component of the text, the ability to justify editorial decisions and apply the most appropriate types of edits. The course "Ukrainian Language and Literature" is a comprehensive discipline consisting of two parts: Part 1: Ukrainian Language: Fundamentals of Editing (2 credits); Part 2. Eastern Reminiscences in Ukrainian Literature (2 credits).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes the following forms of learning organization: practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: a response to a practical lesson, text analysis, error detection, independent text editing, and a test. Assessment methods and criteria
The discipline consists of three content modules. Assessment of semester work: 1. Testing / express survey: 6 - 10 points. 2. Participation in the discussion: 3 - 5 points. 3. Performing independent tasks: preparation of abstracts / presentations / essays: 15 - 25 points. 4. Presentation / case project: 15 - 25 points. 5. Modular control work №1: 6 - 10 points. 6. Module test № 2: 15 - 25 points.
