Learning outcomes
PLO 7. To analyze, compare and classify different trends and schools in Linguistics. PLO 9. To characterize theoretical principles (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of the chosen linguistic specialization. PLO 16. To use specialized conceptual knowledge in a chosen linguistic field to solve complex tasks and issues, which require updates and integration of knowledge, often under conditions of incomplete or lacking information and contradictory requirements.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The course "Cognitive Linguistics" requires knowledge of the Swedish language at a level not lower than B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, knowledge of linguistic terminology acquired during the study of linguistic courses, as well as the basics of the methodology of lexical and semantic analysis with which students get acquainted in the course of lexicology.
Course content
The course "Cognitive Linguistics" in the 3rd semester of the master's degree includes lectures and practical classes. During lectures, students get acquainted with the stages of formation and development of cognitive linguistics and its terminological apparatus. The notion of "concept", its types and structure is considered. After that, a review of the methodology of linguistic-cognitive research is conducted. In practical classes, students master the skills of conducting linguistic-cognitive research using experimental methods and methods of lexical-semantic analysis.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities: lectures, practical classes, independent work. Teaching methods: explanatory and illustrative method, method of problem-based learning (problem-based lecture), research method, project work, preparation and discussion of presentations based on the results of scientific research, scientific discussions.
Assessment methods and criteria
Current assessment: test, report, analytical tasks. Final assessment - credit. Evaluation criteria for each form of control are given in the course program.
