Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of national and foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign languages. PLO 3. To apply modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific field of Translation Studies.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students are required to have the software specified by the discipline for translation purposes (MemoQ, SDL Trados, Trados Multiterm, Premiere Pro, etc.). They should possess a creative and research-oriented approach to organizing translation activities. Students should have theoretical knowledge within the topics covered in the curriculum for the 1st to 4th year of the bachelor's degree in Translation, as well as a solid understanding of the basic concepts of the categorical apparatus of translation studies. Additionally, they should have developed language proficiency, general knowledge, and knowledge of grammatical and stylistic norms in both the source and target languages.
Course content
The discipline "Computer Translation Technologies" is a practical course that involves studying the specifics of written translation using translation software, mastering the technical principles of written and audiovisual translation, developing pre-translation analysis skills, acquiring terminological competence as a translator, gaining practical skills in compiling glossaries (terminology databases) within translation software, learning editing algorithms for translations, and mastering subtitling and dubbing algorithms. The goal of the course is to develop students' knowledge, skills, and abilities in working with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) systems, enhance their technological and information retrieval competencies as translators, and establish foundational skills in subtitling and dubbing.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Oral questioning during classes, performing project translations in translation software, creating a terminology database, project-based subtitling, project-based dubbing, and a final assessment.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral questioning during classes (active participation in practical sessions) – maximum 30 points; Performing project translations in translation software – maximum 20 points; Creating a terminology database – maximum 10 points; Project-based subtitling – maximum 10 points; Project-based dubbing – maximum 10 points. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The maximum score for the exam is 20 points. The exam consists of an oral component (demonstrating proficiency in using translation tools) and a written component (performing a translation in the corresponding software). Each task is evaluated with a maximum of 10 points based on the criteria of completeness, clarity in addressing the question, and translation execution.
