The aim of the discipline is to familiarize master's students with the latest trends in translation studies that focus on text and textual aspects as objects of scientific research relevant to translation. Within the course, the fundamentals of text linguistics and functional stylistics of text in the context of translation are examined. The conceptual framework, programmatic issues, and scope of tasks of specialized translation theories based on principles of text linguistics, pragmatics, cognitive linguistics, and hermeneutics are elucidated. The discipline ensures a deeper understanding of general translation theory and the development of professional competence in specialized translation theories, as well as text linguistics and functional stylistics of text in the context of translation.
