Learning outcomes
To know the nature of international communications, various formats of international cooperation, the problems of development of states and international regions in global, regional and local contexts. To identify, assess and anticipate political, diplomatic, security, social and other risks in the field of international relations and global development. To assess and analyze international, foreign policy and diplomatic problems and situations, propose approaches to solving such problems. To defend professionally the interests of Ukraine in various spheres of international relations.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- to know the theory of international relations, the practice of its key actors. - to be able to analyze the dynamics of interstate diplomatic cooperation, current trends in world politics. - to possess basic skills of analytical work, preparation and evaluation of documents, conducting research.
Course content
Module 1 Conceptual and theoretical framework of strategic planning Topic 1. Theoretical approaches of strategic planning in the field of national security. Topic 2. Structure and process of strategic foreign policy planning. Topic 3. Forecasting as a condition for effective strategic planning in international relations. Topic 4. Methods of strategic planning. Scenario planning as an element of strategic planning Module 2 The practice of strategic planning of the world's leading states and intergovernmental associations Topic 5. Strategic planning models: "Western" (Euro-Atlantic) and "Eastern" (Asian) Topic 6. The structure of the national foreign policy strategy Topic 7. Implementation of foreign policy strategies: diplomatic support

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Oral answers, comments, blitz poll, discussion, problems – up to 60 points. 2. Tasks for individual work (case study presentation) – up to 20 points. 3.Module control work – up to 20 points.
