Learning outcomes
To know and understand the nature, sources and directions of evolution of international relations, international politics, foreign policy and diplomacy of states, the state of theoretical research of international relations and world politics.
To apply modern scientific approaches, methodologies and techniques to the research of international relations, foreign policy and diplomacy issues.
To develop and implement applied research projects in the studies of international relations, world politics, foreign policy and diplomacy of states.
To participate in professional discussions in the field of international relations, foreign policy and diplomacy, public communications and regional studies, respect opponents and their views, convey to professionals and the general public information, ideas, problems, solutions and personal experience on professional issues.
To defend professionally the interests of Ukraine in various spheres of international relations.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To have general knowledge of the history of international relations and the history of Ukraine in particular.
2. To be able to analyze the dynamics of interstate diplomatic interaction.
3. To possess basic skills of political analysis, analysis of international situations and forecasting.
Course content
Module 1
1. Current issues of theory and practice of modern diplomacy in the context of the transformation of international relations.
2. Trends in modern diplomacy
3. Changes in information and communication technologies and modern diplomatic practice.
Module 2
4. The specific features of modern diplomatic work
5. Methods and tools of diplomatic communication
6. Features of the daily work of a diplomatic agent. Practical dimension of information and analytical work of a diplomat.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Oral answers, comments, participation in discussion, presentation – up to 35 points.
2. Completion of an individual work – up to 13 points.

4. Written exam – up to 40 points.
